Answer: We are a new group formed in October 2004.
Question: Can anyone join the group?
Answer: Yes, The only qualification for joining is an interest in supporting our service men and women.
Question: How much does it cost to join?
Answer: There are no dues or other fees to join the group.
Question: How are the activities of the group funded?
Answer: We are funded by donations from the community.
Question: How can I help?
Answer: Running a group like this requires a variety of skills. We need people who are interested in writing letters or packing boxes. We need people who are interested in helping to organize and run the group. We need people who are interested in helping to publicize the activities of the group within our community by writing articles or speaking to service organizations or church groups. Some members are able to devote a substantial amount of time to the group, while others are limited as to how much time they can offer. All levels of participation are welcome and appreciated.
Question: My son is in Iraq. I don't have time to join the group. Can he recieve packages without my joining?
Answer: Of course he can. All you need to do is provide us with his name and mailing address, and he will receive packages from usl. You don't need to be a member of the group. Should you choose to join later, you would be welcome.
Question: I am reluctant to give either my address or my son's address to you. How will you use this information?
Answer: We share your concern about privacy and security of this information. Membership information is controlled by one person within our group and is not shared with any other organization.
Question: Does your group support the war in Iraq?
Answer: Our group neither supports nor opposes the war. Our purpose is to support our troops and their families. Partisan views are left at the door.
